APPRENTICESHIP - ELECTRICAL
Ibew Local 164 offers a five-year apprenticehip training program that is administered jointly with the Bergen-Essex-Hudson Division of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). The program has been designed to enable each apprentice to:

  • Read blueprints
  • Work safely with high voltages, and ...
  • Install, repair and service complicated electrical equipment and controls on residential, commercial and industrial projects

Electrical apprentices in Local 164 attend school during the day on a full time, paid basis, with instruction provided by a staff of full time paid professional instructors. To achieve Journeyman status, all five years must be successfully completed, as well as satisfactory performance on the rigorous final apprenticehip examination.

Applications for the Apprenticehip program are accepted at 9:00 a.m. sharp and 11:00 a.m. sharp on the first and third Fridays of each month (except holidays) at the JATC Training Facility, 65 West Century Road, Paramus. Directions may be found here.
