SECURITY SETTINGS SECURITY SETTINGS
As previously stated, you must enable Cookies in order to take full advantage of the IBEW Local 164 Website. The following is a step-by-step guide to setting security on the latest IE Explorer and Netscape Browsers:
Internet Explorer 6.x
- Select "Internet Options" on the "Tools" menu from the menu bar
- On the popup window, click the "Privacy" tab.
- If your vertical lever is set to "Block all Cookies", lower it to at least the "High" If your lever is already set below "Block all Cookies" proceed to the next step.
- Select the "Edit" button under the "Website" heading
- In the box labeled "Address of Web Site" type the following: www.ibewlocal164.com
- After typing, select the "Allow" button. Our Website name should appear in the list of Managed Web sites listed in the bottom section
- Click "Okay" to close this window. Click "Okay" to close the first window.
- Following this procedure will allow you to maintain a high level of security while continuing to let you visit our site without further adjustments
- If you wish to reset your security level to "High" after visiting our Website, you may readjust the Security lever on the Privacy Menu. Since our Website is now contained in your list of Managed Websites, you will only need to adjust this Security Lever to "High" on future visits.
Internet Explorer 5.x
- Select "Internet Options" on the "Tools" menu from the menu bar
- On the popup window, click the "Security" tab.
- Click the "Custom Level" checkbox at the bottom of the window, followed by the "Settings" button to the right.
- Scroll down the list until you find "Cookies".
- Click "Enable" for "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)".
- Click "Enable" for all options.
- Click "Okay".
Netscape 7.x and 6.x
- While you are on one of IBEW Local 164's web pages, select "Tasks" from the Menu Bar.
- Choose "Privacy and Security" and then choose "Cookie Manager".
- Choose the "Unblock Cookies from this Site" option.
For Other Browsers
Follow the instructions provided by the provider of your particular browser in order to activate cookies.
For Mac Users
Follow the instructions provided by Apple and your particular browser in order to activate cookies.
